Well, my job hunting saga continues daily as resume after resume is posted, emailed and faxed all over Central Florida. I get a few calls, very few. I may have to end up taking a Spanish course to actually get hired now. Yesterday's Ad's were full of very interesting job prospects and worth sending my resume in BUT because I only speak English I cannot apply. There were so many AD's that I decided to go ahead and post them here just so you can get an idea of the frustration that many job seeker' s must have like me that only know English. I wonder if this is a form of discrimination? What do you think?
*At least 2 years of recent MA experience ,Must speak Spanish fluently

*We are seeking English, Spanish/English, Cantonese/English, Mandarin/English, Vietnamese/English, and Korean/English bi-lingual telephone interviewers.

I do understand that Florida and many states now have multi culture's with many different languages being spoken. America is home to everyone and is the 'melting pot' . I am glad so many can come here and find work and a wonderful place to live, I just want the same thing as well. Maybe the answer is to learn Spanish and quit bitching about it. I suppose it would be a smart thing to do in the long run to find a good job. I will check into it. You can also see by the Ad's that it is more then just knowing Spanish . It's like the "United Nations" around here! If I end up having to learn Spanish,Portuguese, Italian, Hindi or German to get a friggin job at "McDonalds" something is just wrong, so very wrong!! ha ha!! ¿quieres las patatas fritas con esa orden? você quer fritadas francesas com essa ordem? volete le patate fritte con quell'ordine? or wünschst du Pommes-Frites mit diesem Auftrag? ("do you want fries with that?")

"and the award goes to"
Give me a friggin break! I did it again, I just waisted over 2 hours of my life watching another boring award show on TV. Why do I do this to myself? Just to see what the women are wearing? No, that would be the Oscar's. Tonight it was the Grammy's. YES another trophy to give away to the most self consumed and self absorbed group of people in the world...Entertainer's! I mean don't get me wrong, they are very talented, work extremely hard, and give many of us hours of enjoyment.. I love the movies, I love TV, and I would love to be a entertainment critic in my next life BUT do you know any other group that give themselves award shows like this group? and its not them really , its whoever gets these over the top shows together in the first place!
We have 'People's Choice'..'The Tony's'...'The Golden Globes'....'Grammy's'...'American Music Awards'...'The Oscar's'...'The Emmy's'...'The Doves'...'The MTV Video'...'SAG Awards'...'AVN Awards'...'BET"...Slammy Awards'...'Mobo Awards'...'CMT' and the list just keeps growing and growing. And of course not to mention all the entertainment show's on TV that do nothing but talk about Jessica's Simpson's horrible weight gain ( that crisis kept me up all night) and Christian Bales tirade on a movie set and dear god if the rumor's are true that Miley Cyrus is acting out like a 16 year old again I will just fall apart.WOW! somebody call TMZ!!...There is just so much extreme in the surreal life of entertainer's. Extreme paycheck's, extreme behavior, extreme everything! Are they so insecure that they need this many award's to pat themselves on the back? Why would anyone be shocked at Mr Bales tirade anyway? entertainers are treated like god's, after a while you might start to think you truly are one..
Tonight's show wasn't without enjoyable moments but there is so much more going on in the world beside the small box of "stroke my ego" that these shows promote. Being awarded is a great honor but it loses it's greatness after about the 20th award show. Less is more and I think it would be great to see some of these shows done away with. On another note, Jennifer Hudson's song was truly beautiful, Paul McCartney was wonderful of course but having Ringo up there would have been an added to treat since Paul was singing an early Beatle song, what was up with the pregnant outfit from M.I.A ??!! can I say it again? extreme!! extremely awful.. and if your going to bring out icon's like Neil Diamond make sure they can still sing! I was shocked he talked the lyrics of 'Sweet Caroline'.. Bless his heart,that was sad to me..AND the most beautiful dress of the evening? my opinion..Whitney Houston...Well that's it for now..Hey maybe these shows continue to stay on because of people like me that complain about them and GASP watch them anyway...I will hate myself in the morning...but will do it all over again on February 22 when " the Oscar goes to"........I'm pathetic!

I'm "TAKEN" !!! ( By Liam Neeson)
I finally went out to a movie last night! Haven't been out to a real theater since the last disappointing Indiana Jones rump . Anyway, that's another blog...My girlfriend and I went to see "Taken" with Liam Neeson ( Schindler's list, Star Wars, Love Actually , the voice of Aslan in the Chronicles of Narnia, yep I didn't know that either...) Of course there were other actor's in this movie but after the first 10 minutes you really don't care who they are. For the next 2 hours you are fixed on this father's attempt to rescue his kidnapped daughter from Paris and he has about a 90 hour window to do it in or she is lost forever in the sex slave trade.
At first you get the impression that 'daddy' is pretty low key, mild mannered, maybe a bit sad and beaten down by the life and career that took valuable time away from his family that eventually ended up destroying it.. He is divorced and watches from the sidelines his daughter's 'new life' with her mother and very wealthy step father.
After reluctantly allowing his very spoiled daughter a trip to Paris, within a few hours of her arrival she and her girlfriend are kidnapped. She has enough time to call her father and BAM! From then on you are 'taken' on a roller coaster of an intense ride of non stop action. This is your classic 'good guy vs bad guy'. You find yourself sucked into this father's obsession ,and anguish to find his daughter and kill, maim, or torture anyone involved that gets in his way. It's rated pg-13 so the maiming isn't over the top as it would be in an R rating.
The movie has the same theme as 'Arnold's' "Commando" and "True Lies". In other words don't mess with an ex agents family or you are going to really regret it...over and over and over....lol
The theater audience really got into this story. Every time a bad guy was 'punished', there was gasping, clapping and cheer's and I think you get the feel that it has alot to do with their anger over the horrific reason these girls are taken in the first place and you want justice! At the end of the movie there was a huge applause.
Liam Neeson was excellent and believable as a desperate father but of course it was a bit far fetched all throughout the movie, but you didn't care. Someone his age (he does look a little weathered but still very good) running around the streets of Paris acting like James Bond , Jason Bourne, or Bruce Willis would surely come home with more then a scratch and a limp..BUT hey he's the good guy and they are supposed to win! It was a lot of fun, lots of action ( don't take the young kiddies, it's for adult kiddies) and well worth getting out of the house, grabbing a bucket of popcorn and settling in for 2 hours of kick ass "I want my daughter back you lousy scum or you will die" entertainment.....20th Century Fox Presents .....when I got home, I ended my evening watching a rerun of the "Notebook".....lol

'blogging for dummies'
Well, after one day of sitting in this chair typing my mind into brain dead mush, I still cannot quite figure out what I am doing. I had email after email telling me they couldn't 'post' a comment on my blog. So I went into my account and messed with setting after setting and I think I finally figured out the problem.......maybe.......so I think you can post now under 'anonymous' then it will ask you to write the coded word and then it sends your message to my email for approval, THEN I can post it...oh brother!..what a mess I am when it comes to computer's.. I am now asking myself, is this REALLY going to be fun? ask me in a few days. Good thing this blog site has a cancel account clause with just a click away!
Hey, ya know the other day when I was telling all my email buddies about my recent job hunting experiences? ( I haven't blogged them yet here) . Well most of the time what I have run into is the fact that #1) I'm to old 2) Not enough degree 3) can't speak Spanish 4) 'overqualified' (my personal favorite insult) and the most recent #5) I live in St Cloud...yep, that's what they said! actually it wasn't meant to be an insult, they were more concerned with the mileage vs the wage ratio but it was really quite funny at the time. I wasn't upset with that, I laughed.
Ok. So this morning as I was browsing the want Ad's I came upon one that made me chuckle! now this was a first...It read ""Excellent communication of the English language" ...So I sent in my resume. If I have to make #6) can't speak excellent English on my list of rejections I think I will have to hang this job hunt up for awhile or do the unthinkable................apply at Walmart!

whistle while you work
Well, if you have a job KEEP IT! and don't complain. These days a little brown nosing and kissing up will be the only way to stay employed along with just being an excellent worker..If you find yourself having that dreaded 'bad day' get over it fast and look around you and thank the Lord you have a good job, and can bring home that paycheck.It wouldn't hurt you to even approach your employer once in a while and thank them for the security that you have....If you're looking for a job, there is plenty to complain about .. I have been job hunting for almost 18 month's now and we all know how horrible it is out there! Live and learn as they say and if I had any insight to all the horror the economy was in for I would have done things a whooooole lot different a few years back. BUT that was then and this is now. We never get to old for 'life lessons'.
I find at this graceful time in my life that many do not want to hire in middle age. "I ain't dead yet" 'They' look at that fact with their own set of insecurities I guess. They probably feel I may not stay with them long like someone in their 20's or 30's, or I may decide to retire early , or die in the hall from a massive coronary or better yet get so old I forget why I am there in the first place or could it have something to do with that fact I might have a lot of life experience and they just don't want to pay for that or listen to my opinion's? ummmm.. haha....can't imagine why they wouldn't want to hear "well ,when I was young" or "back when we did it". .well bottom line, if you can find a job that satisfies your wallet and you remain somewhat sane throughout the day you're blessed. Save all your frustrations, rants and opinions for your family, they won't fire you for being annoying... I'm sure they love to hear your endless stories of employee injustice, office gossip , politics and unfairness, no wait they actually don't, that's why I started to write . It was either start writing or drinking, we'll see which one works the best........ anyway, your boss really just wants you to clock in, work 150%, clock out and do the same thing with a great attitude everyday until you die and that really is OK!! If you have that rare and special employer that is interested in your life, your opinion's, and your world, then you are very lucky indeed and you better hold on to that job until they have to physically carry you out on a stretcher, strait jacket or black bag, but truthfully? they are not that into you so go cry somewhere else. In this economy right now I have learned for every AD I send my resume to there is 200 other applicants wanting that very same job! I probably send out 10 resumes a day and I might get one response in a month! I no longer take the silence as personal. I had an interview 3 weeks ago way into Orlando for a Family Practice office that specializes in weight control, exercise, and organic living..I bet when I walked in they gasped! haha.(now this one I could take personal)..They could probably tell I love chips and dip, in need of some serious liposuction, and was not a 20 year old spanish speaking supermodel..Gosh I never heard from them, what a surprise! I do have some very funny and interesting job hunting stories that I will share as time goes on..I will stop for today and catch my breath..I need to stand up and move around or this old lady will get a blood clot!! Better take a Bayer.....until later..have a great day!

Searching for Caylee (from 11-08 )
This is an account that I wrote back in November 2008. When I read it now it still grieves my heart. Little did we know that day that little Caylee would be found a month later far from where we were searching and so close to her own home, and by a man living right here in St Cloud. I watch the coverage everyday like many of you and our opinions are very strong and diverse.
Since this account many things have happened in this case and I will continue to share my thoughts .This is my first day of blogging and creating this page I really am not sure of all the how to's and such , so until I get it together and learn more, have mercy on my ignorance. I wanted to start my page by posting 'articles' I have already written just to get started..

I wanted to sit down and write about my day with the Caylee Anthony search team. Many of you have asked already. well, It started early, I arrived at the command post about 7:45am this morning with about 2000 other people. I signed in, and waited ,then waited some more. The media were everywhere and of course the 'famous bounty hunter' Leonard Padilla arrived in his full man in black outfit, toothpick hanging from his lips as usual, lol, and signing autographs like a rock star (that was kind of disturbing, but whatever, if it finds Caylee it doesn't matter) The media would have you believe (and has already reported) that Equusearch was disappointed with the turnout, not true.I stood there speaking to one of the top guys and actually he told me they were unprepared for the huge turnout and that tomorrow (Sunday will be better organized) I told him I was a bit puzzled by that because the media promoted this event non stop and were quoting volunteers close to 5000. He was frustrated because the ratio between 'team leaders' and volunteers was really poor and there lies your problem. It was just some poor planning. Many people wanting to search and help, few to tell you HOW. So they learned the hard way and will make Sunday's search even better.
I finally got into a group or team of 18 searchers, some walkers, some 4 wheelers. The leader had a map of our designated location and we headed out. With bug repellent sprayed all over me, water bottle attached to my jeans and my wooden walking stick we headed out into a wooded area off of Boggy Creek Rd down by the airport, not far from the 417 underpass/overpass, whatever pass it is. On the way there we chatted about the case , but as soon as you hit the dirt, its all business , focusing on the ground and anything that looks out of place, not 'normal' or of course smells bad! I did find some old clothes, old blanket, ya know just stuff unrelated and of course had a delightful encounter with a very long disgusting black snake! There was a moment that one of the girls and I were roaming and poking things when we came up on a suspicious looking large piece of board laying on the ground as if it was covering something underneath. You really get a very strange feeling in your stomach about that time. This girl I was with had done this search 2 other times so she said to me as we started to lift it " always be prepared to see something awful"...but it was nothing...You really don't want to come across remains BUT yet at the same time you do, so it will be over and there is final closure.
We searched until there was nothing left to poke, prod or dig. Once we were done , we headed back to the command post, had a drink and something to eat. I was going to go back out again with another search team but it got to late.One of the search teams did find 'something', divers were called in but we have no word on it yet.
So that was one of the most interesting and fascinating things I have ever done in my life and by myself. I wasn't sure I could actually do it. I met some great people. It is hard to put into words what it was truly like out there, but thousands of people had the same goal, the same mind set , and the same heart..Find little Caylee Anthony and bring her home.

"Ghost Town" Movie review
Hello again everyone!
I hope your day is going well. I would like to review a recent DVD rental I viewed recently. I rarely go out to a theater anymore and when I come across a "keeper" I like to pass on my thought's..The movie is called Ghost Town with British actor and comedian Ricky Gervais, T'ea Leoni ( Spanglish, The Family Man), and Greg Kinnear (As Good as it Gets and Little Miss Sunshine).
Its started out slow to me as Greg Kinnnear , an unfaithful selfish husband suddenly dies when a huge bus hits him the day he is trying to buy an apartment for his mistress. (yea , it's a comedy) Pan to Ricky Gervais, an unhappy, self loathing, cranky loner who works as a dentist and happens to live in the same apartment building as Kinnear's wife, and now widow. (T'ea Leoni) .
Ricky is scheduled for a colonoscopy at the hospital and realizes after the procedure is done that he had died on the table for 7 minutes. After he leaves the hospital he begins to encounter dead people, really annoying dead people, they follow him around and ask for favor's because no one else in the 'living world' can hear them, including Kinnear. Of course his disdain for people, dead or alive makes for interesting comic dialogue. He finally makes a deal with Kinnear to help make things right with his widow so that he will be left in peace.
I recommend this delightful, funny, 'message' movie because it's a surprise. It was better then I thought it would be after the first 20 minutes. The comic talent of Ricky Gervais is worth the watch alone. His sarcastic one liners, British humor and character evolvement was touching and at one point you even shed a few tears. I found myself laughing a lot with the witty script and kooky characters ,case in point, Ricky's doctor .. You will love the scene when he joins T''ea and new (save the world) boyfriend. Reminds us of the times we have laughed when we are not supposed to (church, funeral's, serious conversations, you got it).
It has some strong language thrown in here and there when you don't expect it so I'm sure that's where they get the PG-13 rating. BUT the line his dental partner gives him at the end of the movie, even though a bit crass, is actually one of the best lines in the movie and made me think "wouldn't you just love to say those very words to some miserable cranky people you know?"........Well , I'm going to be honest, I would!
But in the end, when we get our lives together and get over our own misery and start seeing a bigger picture, we might come across a hurting person someday that says " it hurts when I smile, and we can reply " I can fix that"..you will understand what I mean, just see the movie and Enjoy! I did....

I hope your day is going well. I would like to review a recent DVD rental I viewed recently. I rarely go out to a theater anymore and when I come across a "keeper" I like to pass on my thought's..The movie is called Ghost Town with British actor and comedian Ricky Gervais, T'ea Leoni ( Spanglish, The Family Man), and Greg Kinnear (As Good as it Gets and Little Miss Sunshine).
Its started out slow to me as Greg Kinnnear , an unfaithful selfish husband suddenly dies when a huge bus hits him the day he is trying to buy an apartment for his mistress. (yea , it's a comedy) Pan to Ricky Gervais, an unhappy, self loathing, cranky loner who works as a dentist and happens to live in the same apartment building as Kinnear's wife, and now widow. (T'ea Leoni) .
Ricky is scheduled for a colonoscopy at the hospital and realizes after the procedure is done that he had died on the table for 7 minutes. After he leaves the hospital he begins to encounter dead people, really annoying dead people, they follow him around and ask for favor's because no one else in the 'living world' can hear them, including Kinnear.
